This is me

I have been working in press photography since 1996 as both a picture editor and a photographer. Press photography has a phenomenal ability to inform, inspire and astonish and I count myself privileged to have been able to make it my career

As technology and the industry evolves I have developed skills in video production, long scale time lapse photography, training, content management systems, digital transmission and web site creation.

My current employer is SWNS, the largest independent press agency in the UK.  I love the daily challenge of what we do, where our success is only limited by our imagination. Our product is content for websites, newspapers, TV and magazines – winners, losers, heros, villans, grinners, and sinners all fall within our remit. Everyday we pluck astonishing stories from obscurity and launch them into the mainstream media. My part in this is to co-ordinate our 20 odd photographers, to seek out exciting new contributors and to be the point of contact for our media clients.

I have been a member of the Picture Editors Guild for a number of years and was one of the judges in the 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 Guild photography awards. I was also one of the judges in the 2014 British Army Photographic competition.

There are a number of other places you can find me on the web. I’ve got a 360cities page for the 360VR images I’ve worked on. The Huffington Post did a really nice gallery of my picture of the year selection in 2013. And I’m sometimes on Instagram.
